What The Outpost Hotel Sentosa is
The Outpost Hotel Sentosa is run by Far East Hospitality at 10 Artillery Avenue, #03-01, Palawan Ridge, Singapore 099951, according to its own location page, fetched 29 September 2026. Its weddings page refers to its event-space building as the Events Centre and states that the building dates to 1904 and was changed from a former British artillery barracks into the venue used today, with combined indoor and outdoor event space of over 1,300 sqm. The pages reviewed for this guide do not link this specific building to a named record on Roots.gov.sg or NLB Infopedia.
According to the National Heritage Board’s Roots portal, fetched 29 September 2026, Sentosa was long called Pulau Blakang Mati, and forts at Serapong, Connaught and Siloso, together with the Mount Imbiah Battery, were installed on the island in the 1870s and 1880s; Roots.gov.sg also records Royal Artillery units stationed on the island and captions a 1915 photograph as the Royal Garrison Artillery barracks there. A 1969 competition to rename the island produced the name Sentosa, and the Sentosa Development Corporation was established in 1972 to oversee its development into a resort.
Two of the four wedding venues the hotel lists, Village Square and The Commune, are stated on the hotel’s own pages to be at the adjacent Village Hotel Sentosa, also run by Far East Hospitality, rather than inside The Outpost Hotel building; confirm with the events team which building each part of your booking uses.
Wedding spaces the hotel lists
The hotel’s weddings page, fetched 29 September 2026, lists four venues for a wedding, and each venue’s own page adds a capacity chart broken down by layout. Revelry Hall, on level two of the Events Centre, is given at 240 sqm and up to 300 persons; its own page lists Banquet 200, Boardroom 48, Buffet 100, Classroom 120, Cluster 108, Standing Cocktail 300, Theatre 240 and U Shape 42. The Breakout Rooms, on the ground level of the Events Centre, are given at 67 to 78 sqm and up to 120 persons, with Banquet 60, Boardroom 42, Classroom 66, Cluster 48, Standing Cocktail 120, Theatre 100 and U Shape 42 on the chart; the hotel names the four rooms individually as Observation, Planning, Ops and Map, and states they can combine into two larger rooms.
Village Square and The Commune are both stated on the hotel’s site to be at the adjacent Village Hotel Sentosa rather than inside The Outpost Hotel building. Village Square is given at 330 sqm and up to 210 persons, with Banquet 210, Boardroom 36, Buffet 120, Classroom 105, Cluster 90, Standing Cocktail 200, Theatre 200 and U Shape 30 on its chart. The Commune is given at 778 sqm and up to 500 persons, with Banquet 360, Buffet 320 and Standing Cocktail 500 on its chart; the hotel describes it as overlooking the Heritage Courtyard, with heritage-protected trees, and suited to a large cocktail reception or banquet. The two headline figures do not follow the same layout: Village Square’s headline of 210 persons matches its chart’s Banquet figure (its Standing Cocktail figure is lower, at 200), while The Commune’s headline of 500 persons matches its chart’s Standing Cocktail figure (its Banquet figure is lower, at 360). Confirm which layout figure applies to your guest count and your planned seating.
Revelry Hall also has its own wedding package page, fetched 29 September 2026 and headed Weddings at Revelry Hall 2026, which describes the room as on level two of the Events Centre building with chandeliers, high ceilings and timber beams. That page’s download link, labelled DOWNLOAD 2026 BROCHURE, in fact opens a PDF headed 2027 Wedding Package, downloaded and fetched 29 September 2026, so the page heading and the linked document are not the same year. That PDF states its rates are applicable for weddings held by 31 December 2027, and gives Revelry Hall a minimum of 120 persons and a maximum of 160 persons for this package; these package figures are separate from the room’s full capacity chart above, so ask the events team which package and which figure currently apply to your date. The hotel’s gallery also states that Revelry Hall has a bridal room for touch-ups and gown changes.
Solemnisation spaces and a civil ceremony here
The hotel’s gallery, fetched 29 September 2026, names three settings for a wedding ceremony: the Heritage Courtyard, described as an outdoor venue with natural light that the hotel calls suited to solemnisations; the Outdoor Pavilion, decorated in what the hotel calls a Rustic theme and stated to hold up to 40 guests for a solemnisation; and the Breakout Rooms, described as pillarless and able to combine into a larger private space for a solemnisation. The pages reviewed for this guide do not give a capacity for the Heritage Courtyard, so ask the events team for your guest count.
For a civil marriage, a solemnisation here would be an offsite ceremony requiring the hotel’s agreement, a licensed solemniser and completion of ROM’s application, declaration and marriage-licence requirements through marriage.gov.sg; offsite ceremonies may take place on weekends and public holidays. Coordinate the proposed venue, date and time with the hotel and your licensed solemniser before finalising arrangements. Submit the marriage application no earlier than six months before the solemnisation; the 21-day notice period begins once the application is submitted and paid, so complete this at least 21 days ahead of the date. Arrange two witnesses above 21.

Photography and filming rules on Sentosa
Sentosa’s own FAQ page, fetched 29 September 2026, states that filming and photo shoots for personal use are allowed on the island without a permit, while a permit is required for a commercial shoot; enquiries and permit applications go through Sentosa’s contact page. A separate entry on the same FAQ page states that all filming and photography requests must be submitted at least 10 working days in advance for approval; ask Sentosa how a commissioned wedding photography or videography shoot by your vendor would be classified under these rules, and when to submit your request. The same FAQ page names Tanjong Rimau, at Siloso Headland, and Mount Serapong as biodiversity sites where a permit is separately required for photography or filming; ask Sentosa whether either area falls within your planned shots.
Sentosa’s FAQ states that recreational drone flying is strictly prohibited on the island, and that a commercial drone operation needs Sentosa’s prior approval, requested by email at least 10 working days before the planned activity. Any drone flying must comply with CAAS Operator Permit and Activity Permit requirements.
Vendors, light and rain
The pages reviewed for this guide do not state whether outside photographers and videographers are permitted, or whether a site visit is possible before the day, so ask the hotel’s events team directly, along with when vendors can access each space for setup.
The Heritage Courtyard and the Outdoor Pavilion are, by their own descriptions, outdoor spaces, and the pages reviewed for this guide do not state a wet-weather alternative for either one. For any outdoor portion of your day here, ask whether an indoor alternative is available and what conditions apply. For portraits in the Events Centre or at Village Hotel Sentosa, ask your photographer to check the space at the time of day you have booked, since the pages reviewed do not describe how daylight moves through the rooms.
What to ask before you book
Before booking The Outpost Hotel Sentosa, confirm the following with the events team:
- Which of the four venues, or which solemnisation setting, is available for your date and guest count, and which capacity figure on the hotel’s chart applies to your layout.
- Whether Village Square or The Commune, both at the adjacent Village Hotel Sentosa, fit your plans as well as the spaces in the Events Centre.
- Whether outside photographers and videographers are permitted, and when they can access the space for setup.
- For an outdoor ceremony at the Heritage Courtyard or the Outdoor Pavilion, ask whether an indoor alternative is available and what conditions apply.
- Whether your planned photography or filming on Sentosa needs approval, and whether any drone use needs Sentosa’s separate approval.
