Roots.gov.sg, the National Heritage Board’s heritage portal, holds photographs from the National Museum of Singapore’s collection recording that the hotel opened as the Hotel Summit, officially opened by then Minister for Foreign Affairs S. Rajaratnam, in August 1971. The Goodwood Group acquired the hotel in 1978 and renamed it York Hotel, as Roots.gov.sg records it.
Spaces the hotel lists for weddings
The hotel’s wedding page identifies Rosemarie Hall and Top of the York as its wedding venues. The wedding page advertises up to 32 tables; confirm the applicable room and layout. The hotel’s meeting and events pages, fetched 29 September 2026, add that Rosemarie Hall is a 400-square-metre room that can be divided into four smaller function rooms, and that Top of the York, at 180 square metres, sits at the top of the hotel’s tower with daylight and skyline views.
The hotel’s own Meeting and Events Fact Sheet, a PDF linked from the wedding page and dated 1 October 2025, gives a capacity chart by layout. It lists the combined hall — spelled “Rose Marie Hall” on this chart, a combination of the Rose and Marie rooms — at a dinner-layout capacity of 300 persons, with theatre at 300 and classroom at 140. The same chart lists Top of the York at a dinner-layout capacity of 120 persons, with theatre at 100 and classroom at 36. The chart also gives separate, smaller figures for the individual Rose 1, Rose 2, Marie 1 and Marie 2 rooms and their two-room combinations; ask the hotel which layout and room combination applies to your wedding.

The wedding page separately states that the hotel caters for intimate solemnisation ceremonies alongside wedding lunches and banquets. The pages reviewed for this guide do not otherwise name a specific room set aside solely for solemnisations, so confirm the exact space with the hotel.
For a civil marriage, a solemnisation here would be an offsite ceremony, arranged with the hotel and a licensed solemniser, following the process set out on marriage.gov.sg. Coordinate the proposed venue, date and time with the hotel and your licensed solemniser before finalising arrangements. The 21-day notice period counts from when your marriage application is submitted and paid for online, and the application must be made no more than six months before the solemnisation.

The hotel’s wedding brochure likewise does not set out a photography or videography policy.
Ask the events team directly whether outside photographers and videographers are permitted for your booked space, whether a site visit or rehearsal is possible beforehand, and whether Rosemarie Hall’s sub-divided rooms or Top of the York’s skyline view can be used for portraits as well as for the reception programme.
