What should couples know about a wedding at Goodwood Park Hotel?
Goodwood Park Hotel on Scotts Road began as the Teutonia Club’s clubhouse, opened in 1900, and its Tower Block is a national monument. For weddings, the hotel’s own pages and wedding packages list two ballrooms, restaurant spaces at Min Jiang, two outdoor settings for a solemnisation and the Rose Marie Suite in the historic Grand Tower. This guide sets out what those pages state, what Roots records about the building, and what to confirm with the hotel.
- The hotel’s wedding package for 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027 lists the Tudor Ballroom for 12 to 18 tables and the Windsor Ballroom for 25 to 35 tables, without a dance floor or buffet lines.
- Its solemnisation rental package lists the Mayfair Pool for up to 30 people and the Poolside Terrace for up to 70, for two hours of use before the wedding.

What Roots and the hotel record about the building
According to the National Heritage Board’s Roots portal, seven German merchants formally established the Teutonia Club on 28 June 1856, and the club acquired land at Scotts Road in 1861. Construction of a new clubhouse began in 1899, and on 21 September 1900 the building was officially opened as the Deutsches Haus, or German House. Roots credits the design to Regent A. J. Bidwell of Swan & Maclaren and describes its Queen Anne Revival style, with brick pediments, towers, verandahs and detailed textures.
Roots records that the Manasseh brothers bought the property in 1918 and renamed it Goodwood Hall, and in 1929 transformed it into Goodwood Park Hotel, and that the Japanese navy used the building as its headquarters during the occupation. The hotel’s own heritage page adds that it served as a British War Crimes Court after the war, was returned to Vivian Bath, a Manasseh descendant, in 1947, was bought by Malayan Banking Group in 1963 and passed to Tan Sri Khoo Teck Puat in 1968. In March 1989 the historic tower was gazetted a national monument; Roots notes that only the Tower Block carries that status.
Wedding spaces the hotel lists
The hotel’s weddings page describes the Tudor Ballroom as a rectangular room with chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides that let in natural daylight, with a private reception area for drinks before the banquet. It describes the Windsor Ballroom as octagonal, with mirrored wall panels, a high coffered ceiling with crystal chandeliers and a layout unobstructed by pillars. The wedding package for 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027 sets the Tudor Ballroom at a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 18 tables, and the Windsor Ballroom at 25 to 35 tables, without a dance floor or buffet lines.
The same page lists Min Jiang, the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, with six private dining rooms that can be combined, and the Min Pavilion, a shaded timber-decked terrace overlooking the Main Pool; it also lists Min Jiang Dempsey, housed in a 5,000-square-foot black-and-white one-storey colonial building at Dempsey Road rather than at the Scotts Road hotel. For photography, the ballrooms call for different plans: window light along both sides of the Tudor Ballroom at a lunch banquet, and a pillar-free octagon under chandeliers in the Windsor Ballroom. Solemnisation by the pool, or in the Rose Marie Suite
The weddings page names two outdoor settings for a solemnisation: the Poolside Terrace, the timber-decked alfresco terrace of L’Espresso restaurant, overlooking the Main Pool and shaded with ceiling fans, and the Balinese-inspired Mayfair Pool, surrounded by greenery. The hotel’s solemnisation rental package covers two hours of venue use before the wedding, lists the Mayfair Pool for up to 30 people and the Poolside Terrace for up to 70, and includes a decorated solemnisation table, a sound system and two wireless microphones. The package also applies to couples who are not holding their wedding banquet at the hotel, with a minimum food and beverage spend on top of the rental.
The weddings page also lists the Rose Marie Suite, which the hotel’s accommodation page places in the historic Grand Tower, as a backdrop for a solemnisation, tea ceremony, marriage proposal and pre-wedding photoshoot. The pages reviewed for this guide do not state how many guests it can hold for a ceremony, so ask the events team before you plan around it.
A civil solemnisation here
For a civil marriage, a solemnisation here would be an offsite ceremony requiring the venue’s agreement, a licensed solemniser and completion of ROM’s application, declaration and marriage-licence requirements; offsite ceremonies may take place on weekends and public holidays. Coordinate the proposed venue, date and time with the hotel and your licensed solemniser before finalising arrangements. Submit the marriage application no earlier than six months and at least 21 days before the solemnisation, and arrange two witnesses above 21.
ROM describes an offsite ceremony as taking about 15 to 30 minutes; agree with the hotel and solemniser how to schedule guest arrival, any optional ceremonial certificate signing and family photographs within the two-hour venue booking. If you would rather solemnise at one of ROM’s own sites, the room at The Esplanade Mall (as at September 2026) holds up to 20 people and the Ficus Room at Gardens by the Bay up to 40, including the couple and witnesses. Light, rain and what the pages do not state
Both pool settings are outdoors, and the pages reviewed for this guide do not state a rain alternative for either. Ask whether an indoor alternative is available and what conditions apply, then agree the plan with your photographer; our wet-weather planning guide covers what to agree in advance. The pages reviewed also do not state a policy on outside photographers and videographers, or when vendors can reach a room for setup and detail photographs. Ask the events team about both before you confirm your team.
Arrival and timing on the day
The hotel’s wedding package for 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027 lists one VIP parking lot for the bridal car, and parking coupons for part of your guaranteed attendance, subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis. Confirm the drop-off point, and where your photographer and videographer can park and unload, with the events team.

- Which spaces are available on your date, and the table minimums and maximums for your package.
- Ask whether an indoor alternative is available and what conditions apply for a poolside solemnisation.
- How many guests the Rose Marie Suite can hold for a solemnisation or tea ceremony.
- Whether outside photographers and videographers are welcome, and when they can reach the room.
- Where the bridal car and your vendors should arrive and park.
