What Grand Hyatt Singapore is
Records held by the National Museum of Singapore and published on roots.gov.sg describe a 22-storey hotel on Scotts Road that opened in 1971, first under the name Hyatt Hotel and then Hyatt Regency. Roots records that the hotel was relaunched as the Grand Hyatt Singapore in 1998. The wedding homepage archived on 24 March 2023 gives the address as 10 Scotts Road; the Roots records place the hotel near the Orchard Road tourist and shopping belt.
The wedding homepage archived on 24 March 2023 reported that a transformation project began in October 2021 and described a planned closure of approximately four months from 19 September 2022. It gave expected reopening dates in 2023 and invited enquiries for events from the third quarter of that year; these were plans recorded in that archive, not confirmation of the eventual schedule. Copies of the wedding pages archived on 15 April 2024 name the spaces The Gallery, Grand Salon, Grand Ballroom and Grand Residence; the hotel’s current pages could not be read directly for this guide, so confirm which spaces are available and what they are called before you plan around it.
The spaces the hotel lists for weddings
The Gallery page archived on 15 April 2024 describes a Level 1M wedding venue with a design inspired by contemporary art. Its own page states that guests are welcomed into a foyer and lounge area with an open bar and a loft kitchen, and that the space includes a bridal room for wedding preparations and gown changes, two ateliers described as suited to a solemnisation and a tea ceremony, and a dining room the page states holds 220 to 260 guests.
The Grand Salon page archived on 15 April 2024 lists seating for 260 to 320 guests on Level 2 and describes a concealed show kitchen that can be revealed during the event. The same page states that additional function rooms nearby provide more intimate spaces for a solemnisation or tea ceremony, plus a private dressing room.
The Level 3 page archived on 15 April 2024 names the Grand Ballroom and Grand Residence and mentions up to 620 guests without specifying the room or configuration. The venues overview archived on the same date identifies a digital screen in the Grand Ballroom and daylight features in the Grand Residence. The Grand Residence is described as suited to a smaller lunch reception, and the page states this level includes private spaces for a tea ceremony and a bridal dressing room; unlike the Level 1M and Level 2 pages, it does not mention a solemnisation space at Level 3 specifically. A guest count at the upper end of this range is worth discussing with your photography team well ahead of the day.
The outdoor Gazebo and an offsite civil solemnisation
The hotel’s special-venues page archived on 1 February 2023 lists a Gazebo set among greenery as a solemnisation venue for up to 40 guests on its private lawn and ten in the gazebo. It is the outdoor ceremony option named on the hotel pages reviewed for this guide; confirm that it is still offered.
For a civil marriage, a solemnisation here would be an offsite ceremony requiring the venue’s agreement, a licensed solemniser and completion of ROM’s application, declaration and marriage-licence requirements; offsite ceremonies may take place on weekends and public holidays. Confirm the venue, date and time with the hotel before inviting a solemniser to commit, since the Registry advises booking one 3 to 6 months ahead and they may not confirm any earlier. The marriage application itself is submitted no earlier than six months and at least 21 days before the solemnisation, and you will need two witnesses above the age of 21.

The hotel’s wedding FAQ archived on 1 February 2023 states that it works on a regular basis with several vendors for music, photography and floral arrangements, and that it will share their details with couples. The same page does not state whether an outside photographer or videographer may be brought in instead of, or alongside, these suggested vendors, so ask the wedding team directly before you book.
For flowers specifically, the FAQ page states that couples may bring in their own florist to enhance the arrangements, provided only fresh flowers are used and the hotel is told in advance how the enhancements will look. The same page notes that a complimentary day-use room for helpers can only be confirmed closer to the date, depending on the hotel’s occupancy at the time; build this into your wedding-day timeline as a placeholder rather than a certainty until the hotel confirms it.
Light and a wet-weather plan for the Gazebo
