In short
This guide brings together what six of our own venue guides state about wedding spaces on Sentosa, grouped by the kind of space each hotel or club lists: hotel ballrooms, garden and lawn settings, and a beach club. It also sets out what Sentosa Development Corporation’s own FAQ states about photography, filming and drone rules on the island, and how a civil solemnisation would generally work at a Sentosa venue.
- Capella Singapore, Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, W Singapore – Sentosa Cove, The Outpost Hotel Sentosa and The Barracks Hotel Sentosa each list at least one indoor wedding venue, with capacity figures stated by the hotels themselves – some broken down by layout on a capacity chart, and Capella’s Grand Ballroom given instead as a single “up to” figure with no stated layout.
- Capella, W Singapore, and The Outpost Hotel Sentosa and The Barracks Hotel Sentosa (which share an Events Centre building) each name a garden, lawn or courtyard space, several of them for a solemnisation.
- Tanjong Beach Club offers a beachfront setting on Sentosa with direct access to the public beach.
- Sentosa’s FAQ states that personal-use photography and filming do not need a permit, that commercial shoots do, and that recreational drone flying is prohibited on the island.
- A civil solemnisation at any of these six venues would be an offsite ceremony under the Registry of Marriages’ rules, not a ceremony at one of ROM’s own sites.
Indoor wedding venues on Sentosa
Capella Singapore’s weddings page names the Sentosa Room and the Grand Ballroom under its Wedding Venues heading. The Grand Ballroom is described as a circular, pillarless ballroom under a glass dome, with a curved LED wall stated at 81 square metres and a glass sculpture by artist Nikolas Weinstein; the hotel states the room measures 800 square metres and holds up to 400 guests, with its Portico foyer holding up to 500 guests for a cocktail reception. The Sentosa Room is described as three rooms, Sentosa I, II and III, that combine into one hall holding up to 180 guests or divide into smaller spaces, each with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the sea. Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa’s meetings page describes the Straits Ballroom as having floor-to-ceiling doors and windows that let in natural daylight, accommodating 320 guests in a cocktail format or 280 at sit-down banquets, and divisible into Straits I and Straits II. The Straits Veranda just outside is listed with a capacity of 150 people. The Saffron Ballroom can seat up to 170 guests in a theatre or banquet arrangement and can be divided into two rooms. W Singapore – Sentosa Cove’s weddings page describes the Great Room as a 720-square-metre pillarless room with an outdoor terrace, natural light and an LED screen of 5 by 14 metres; its capacity chart lists the Great Room for 480 at a banquet or 540 at a reception, and Great Room 1 and Great Room 2 for 200 at a banquet or 270 at a reception each. The chart lists each of the four Studios for 50 at a banquet or 60 at a reception, and the Studios combined for 180 at a banquet or 240 at a reception; the weddings page describes the Studios as a place to say your vows, with high ceilings and natural daylight. The Outpost Hotel Sentosa’s weddings page lists Revelry Hall and the Breakout Rooms as wedding venues in its Events Centre building, which it dates to 1904 and describes as changed from a former British artillery barracks. Revelry Hall is given at 240 square metres, and its own capacity chart gives a Banquet figure of 200, against a package maximum of 160. The Outpost’s wedding package page is labelled 2026 but links to a 2027 brochure giving a minimum of 120 and a maximum of 160, valid for weddings held by 31 December 2027. The Barracks Hotel’s own Revelry Hall package page is labelled 2025 and gives minimums of 100 for lunch and 120 for dinner, and links to the same 2027 brochure. Ask the events team which document and which figure currently apply to your date. The Breakout Rooms are given at 67 to 78 square metres with a chart of Banquet 60 and Standing Cocktail 120; the hotel names the four Breakout Rooms individually as Observation, Planning, Ops and Map, and states they can combine into two larger rooms. These same venue listings also appear on The Barracks Hotel Sentosa’s own weddings page, since the Events Centre building is shared between the two neighbouring hotels. Garden and lawn settings
Capella Singapore’s weddings page names two spaces under its Solemnisation Venues heading: Horizon’s Verge, described as a patio for saying vows at sunset, and Garden of Dreams, described as the resort’s garden lawns for an outdoor ceremony; the same page mentions an outdoor walk down the aisle at the lawn. The pages reviewed for our Capella guide do not state a guest-capacity figure for Horizon’s Verge, Garden of Dreams or the lawn itself. Read more in our Capella Singapore wedding guide.
W Singapore – Sentosa Cove’s weddings page names the W Lawn for an outdoor solemnisation with views of the Cove marina; its capacity chart lists the W Lawn for 200 at a banquet or reception. The hotel’s events page also mentions a Garden Terrace for outdoor moments before or after an event, without a capacity in the chart. Read more in our W Singapore – Sentosa Cove wedding guide.
At The Outpost Hotel Sentosa and The Barracks Hotel Sentosa, the shared gallery names the Heritage Courtyard, described as an outdoor venue with natural light that the hotels call suited to solemnisations, and the Outdoor Pavilion, stated to hold up to 40 guests for a solemnisation. The Barracks Hotel Sentosa separately lists its own venue, Barracks Lawn, given at 608 square metres with a capacity chart of Banquet 280 and Standing Cocktail 450 among other layouts; its current wedding package states a minimum of 200 and a maximum of 260 persons, valid for weddings held by 31 December 2026, and that package’s brochure separately lists a solemnisation venue for 30 persons without naming it. A beach club setting
Tanjong Beach Club is a beachfront venue on Sentosa with direct access to the public beach; it opened in 2010 on Tanjong Beach, and its site credits the Lo & Behold Group. The club’s private events page gives a full-venue capacity of up to 500 guests based on its existing setup and lists named spaces including the Sunset Cabana, permanently sheltered with blinds and holding 50 seated or 70 standing, and the Coastal Tables, holding 56 seated or 80 standing. The club’s events FAQ gives a separate figure for a full-venue exclusive booking of 350 seated or 450 standing in the standard configuration; for a booking from 1,000 guests upward, the same FAQ states that extra space can be arranged by renting the adjacent Tanjong 1 beach space from Sentosa, with the club helping to coordinate the rental, rather than this being an automatic feature of public-beach access. Photography, filming and drone rules across Sentosa
Sentosa’s FAQ, read by the editor on 29 September 2026, states that filming and photo shoots for personal use are allowed on the island without a permit, while a permit is required for commercial shoots, with enquiries and permit applications directed to Sentosa’s contact channel. A separate answer in the same FAQ states that all filming and photography requests must be submitted at least 10 working days in advance for approval.
Sentosa’s FAQ also states that recreational drone flying is strictly prohibited on the island, and that commercial drone operations require prior approval from Sentosa, requested by email at least 10 working days before the planned activity. Any drone flying must comply with CAAS Operator Permit and Activity Permit requirements.
The same FAQ names Tanjong Rimau, at Siloso Headland, and Mount Serapong as biodiversity sites where a permit is separately required for research, photography, filming or other activities. The pages reviewed for this guide do not state where a couple’s own wedding photography and videography session sits between personal use and a shoot that needs a permit; ask both your chosen venue and Sentosa directly which category your session falls under, and whether either restricted nature area falls within your planned shots.
Civil solemnisation on Sentosa
None of the six venues covered in this guide is one of the Registry of Marriages’ own sites, so a ceremony at any of them would be an offsite civil solemnisation under ROM’s rules, requiring the venue’s agreement, a licensed solemniser and completion of ROM’s application, declaration and marriage-licence requirements at marriage.gov.sg; offsite ceremonies may take place on weekends and public holidays. Coordinate the proposed venue, date and time with the venue and your licensed solemniser before finalising arrangements.
ROM says solemniser bookings can be made 3 to 6 months before the solemnisation date, and ROM notes that solemnisers may not be able to commit to a booking earlier than this. Licensed solemnisers are volunteers. Submit the marriage application no earlier than six months before the solemnisation; the 21-day notice period begins once the application is submitted and paid, so complete this at least 21 days ahead of the date. Arrange two witnesses who are above 21.
By contrast, as at September 2026, ROM’s own sites are currently The Esplanade Mall, where its Registry of Marriages is temporarily located while its former Canning Rise building is redeveloped, and where ROM states its solemnisation room holds up to 20 people including the couple and two witnesses, and the Ficus Room at Gardens by the Bay, which ROM states can hold up to 40 people including the couple and witnesses; a solemnisation at any of the six Sentosa venues in this guide follows the offsite process rather than either of these. What to ask before you book
Whichever of these six venues you are considering, put these questions to the venue’s events team, and to Sentosa where relevant, since the pages reviewed for this guide leave them for you to confirm.
- Which space and which capacity figure on the venue’s own chart applies to your guest count and layout.
- Whether your wedding photography and videography session would be treated as personal use or as a shoot that needs a Sentosa permit, and whether the request needs to reach Sentosa at least 10 working days ahead.
- Whether any commercial drone filming is planned, and whether the operator has Sentosa’s prior approval and meets the applicable CAAS permit requirements, given that recreational drone flying is prohibited on Sentosa.
- Whether outside photographers and videographers are permitted, and when they can access the space for setup.
- If you are also planning a civil solemnisation, coordinate the proposed venue, date and time with the venue and your licensed solemniser before finalising arrangements.
